Dance Mat Typing by Andrea

I am learning all of the letters on the keyboard off by heart.  I am getting much better at it.  I can almost type without looking at the keyboard.

Organising my ideas for writing by Andrea

We have been using Popplet to do our planning on.  This helps us a lot with our writing and it is better to use Popplet for our brainstorms.  It is also a very helpful website for us Room 10 students.

Andrea reaches for the stars

In cybersmart we have been learning to create a positive digital footprint. We have been imagining what our digital footprint might look like in 10 years.

Creating a positive digital footprint

We have been learning to create a positive digital footprint. We have been making decisions about what information we are sharing about ourselves online. You can see more on our class CyberSmart page.

Here is Andrea's personal profile for her blog.

Hello, my name is Andrea and I am 9 yrs old. I live in Glen Innes, Auckland.  I am Maori/Niuean.  My mum is Maori and my dad is Niuean. I have 3 brothers, 1 sister and a dog named Kibou. In chinese it means hope.  I enjoy singing and dancing as well.  I always ride on my orange bike and I love having fun.

In addition, I know what the longest word in the dictionary is but I don't know what it means.  I love cooking food with my parents such as: Maori bread, mashed potatoes and homemade cake.  I am good at all sorts of sports such as: swimming, soccer and sprinting. My favourite colour is blue.  I have fantastic friends and their names are  Shanelle, Hilda-Rose, Lauren, Sina and Lana. I also love eating fruit.   Sometimes, I have to help my classmates with their work.

Moreover, I try my best to not do anything wrong.  When I grow up I want to be a dentist or a builder.  Many people say to me” be a dentist  because they make a lot of money”.  I have a teacher that teaches me very well so I can learn some more interesting things.

Last but not least,  I like playing on bouncy castles. I am on list 8 for spelling and when I’m bored I write poems.  I can count to ten in two different languages.  My favourite subject is Maths because I learn different strategies to solve problems.

Hoping to Win

Every Monday, I have been practising to play for the Touch Rugby Tournament.  I've been practising a lot at home and I've learnt plenty of skills that gives me energy for the day.
One of the activities we do is suicides. Suicides gets us fit. We have to run between two lines until we can't run anymore. There are 4 teams participating at the tournament from Glen Innes School.
What are we hoping for? We are hoping to win and have fun.
