Creating a positive digital footprint
We have been learning to create a positive digital footprint. We have been making decisions about what information we are sharing about ourselves online. You can see more on our class CyberSmart page.
Here is Andrea's personal profile for her blog.
Hello, my name is Andrea and I am 9 yrs old. I live in Glen Innes, Auckland. I am Maori/Niuean. My mum is Maori and my dad is Niuean. I have 3 brothers, 1 sister and a dog named Kibou. In chinese it means hope. I enjoy singing and dancing as well. I always ride on my orange bike and I love having fun.
In addition, I know what the longest word in the dictionary is but I don't know what it means. I love cooking food with my parents such as: Maori bread, mashed potatoes and homemade cake. I am good at all sorts of sports such as: swimming, soccer and sprinting. My favourite colour is blue. I have fantastic friends and their names are Shanelle, Hilda-Rose, Lauren, Sina and Lana. I also love eating fruit. Sometimes, I have to help my classmates with their work.
Moreover, I try my best to not do anything wrong. When I grow up I want to be a dentist or a builder. Many people say to me” be a dentist because they make a lot of money”. I have a teacher that teaches me very well so I can learn some more interesting things.
Last but not least, I like playing on bouncy castles. I am on list 8 for spelling and when I’m bored I write poems. I can count to ten in two different languages. My favourite subject is Maths because I learn different strategies to solve problems.

Hoping to Win
Every Monday, I have been practising to play for the Touch Rugby Tournament. I've been practising a lot at home and I've learnt plenty of skills that gives me energy for the day.
One of the activities we do is suicides. Suicides gets us fit. We have to run between two lines until we can't run anymore. There are 4 teams participating at the tournament from Glen Innes School.
What are we hoping for? We are hoping to win and have fun.

Practising for the Touch Tournament
Every Monday, we have been practising for the touch tournament. I have been practicing with my squad and my teachers who are Mrs. Barry and Ata.
We have learnt skills such as stepping, so I can dodge my opponents. We have also been learning fake passes because my opponents will think that I’m going to pass that side but when really I’m going to pass the opposite way.
What I’ll like to achieve from the tournament is to win all my games and have a good time.

Halloween by Lauren
Kia
Ora, every year I see a lot of kids trick or treating on the 31st of
October. I’ve never ever been out to trick or treat during Halloween in
my life. Halloween must be so awesome as we get lots of treats from
house to house.
Sometimes kids get toothaches from eating lots of chocolates and lollies. Little kids are dressed up in freaky costumes. It has got to be the most scary, fantastic, most mind blowing, spectacular and out of control it is called Halloween! Guess what I’m going to dress up as. A VAMPIRE! or HARRY POTTER! maybe a TIGER! If I go... trick or treat smell my feet give me something nice to eat, if you don’t I will make you a pumpkin head instead.
I hope I celebrate halloween like the other kids.
